Central Lakes Fire Department
7562 Murphy Lake Rd
Eleveth, MN. 55734

Lino Lakes Public Safety Department February 8, 2018
Attn: Director John Swenson
640 Town Center Parkway
Lino Lakes, MN 55115

Public Safety Director Swenson,

On behalf of the Central Lakes Fire Department, I would like to offer you $30,000.00 for the 1995 Ford
L8000 fire engine you have listed for sale. This offer is contingent upon the testing and certification of
the fire pump.

Central Lakes Fire Department became aware of the engine you have for sale through the Ellsburg
Volunteer Fire Department. As you know, Ellsburg purchased a fire engine from Lino Lakes in July of
2017.

The Central Lakes Fire Department provides fire and rescue services to 36 square mile area out of two
fire stations. This engine would replace 1981 Seagrave Pumper, which we are not able to get parts for
any longer nor are we able to get the fire pump certified. As you know this is critical safety concern for
our staff and community.

The purchase of the 1995 Ford L8000 fire engine would also enhance our department’s interoperability
with the Ellsburg Volunteer Fire Department. As mutual aid partners and neighboring jurisdictions in a
rural setting the ability to have the same fire engine is vitally important.

Thank you for considering this offer.

Respectfully submitted,

Jason Doughty
Fire Chief
