foundation drain discharges. Shoreview staff does not have (or want) authority to
do these types of inspections or enforcement outside of our corporate limits; the
agreement should stipulate how that would be addressed. The only potential
incentive to Shoreview for adding sewer accounts outside of their boundary
would be to reduce the number of questionable, poorly maintained or failing
septic systems in the general area.
• Any new water service locations would need to use Shoreview-spec radio read
meters (Badger/Orion) so that they could collect the data and use it for the basis
of billing. Lino Lakes would have to be willing to investigate and maintain these
meters in the event of reading errors.
• Shoreview would generate utility bills for service locations that identify the City
of Lino Lakes as the customer. They specifically do not want to establish utility
accounts and/or customer service relationships with individual residents outside
of our community.
• Properties connected to Shoreview's Municipal Water Supply are required to
observe our water use restrictions, currently odd/even with a mid-day ban. In the
event that these are violated, the City of Lino Lakes would be required to enforce
on our behalf.

Requested Council Direction

Staff is requesting Council Direction to pursue municipal utility service.

Attachments

1.
