COUNCIL MINUTES March 12, 2018 <br />DRAFT <br />2 <br />Consider approval of Advisory Board Appointments Approved 46 <br /> 47 <br />FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT 48 <br /> 49 <br />There was no report from the Finance Department. 50 <br /> 51 <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT 52 <br /> 53 <br />3A) Consider Temporary Increase of Office Specialist Hours – Human Resources Manager 54 <br />Barthlomew reviewed the written report. Staff is recommending an increase in the hours for this 55 <br />position based on a vacancy and related increased work load in the department. There would be no 56 <br />budgetary impact because of the vacancy. 57 <br /> 58 <br />Council Member Maher asked if the hourly rate of pay would change and Ms. Barthlomew said there 59 <br />would be no wage adjustment based on this action. 60 <br /> 61 <br />Council Member Rafferty received information on the impact to benefits. 62 <br /> 63 <br />Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the temporary increase of hours for the Office Special 64 <br />position as recommended. Council Member Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice 65 <br />vote. 66 <br /> 67 <br />PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT 68 <br /> 69 <br />4A) Consider Hiring of Police Officer – Public Safety Director Swenson reviewed his written 70 <br />report recommending that the council approve the hiring of one police officer. Based on an extensive 71 <br />interview and review process, staff is recommending hiring Austin Reihm for this vacant position. 72 <br />The department remains within their approved budget. 73 <br /> 74 <br />Council Member Manthey moved to approve the hiring of Austin Reihm as recommended. Council 75 <br />Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 76 <br /> 77 <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT 78 <br /> 79 <br />There was no report from the Public Services Department. 80 <br /> 81 <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT 82 <br /> 83 <br />6A) Consider Resolution No. 18-24 Ordering the Project, Approving the Plans & 84 <br />Specifications and Authorizing the Ad for Bid, 2018 Mill and Overlay Project – City Engineer 85 <br />Hankee reviewed the written report. Staff is recommending authorization for certain actions relative 86 <br />to the 2018 Mill and Overlay Project. Ms. Hankee reviewed the criteria for ranking streets to be 87 <br />included in the program and the roadways that will be included in this year’s project. She reviewed 88 <br />the project schedule culminating in the project work in August/September. 89 <br /> 90
