CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3C <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Karissa Bartholomew, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: April 9, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Appointment of Administrative Assistant <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Kellie Schmidt for the vacant <br />Administrative Assistant position in the Public Services Department. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />This position was advertised following the resignation of previous Administrative Assistant, <br />Heather Robinson. At this time, staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a <br />conditional offer, and is recommending approval of Ms. Kellie Schmidt for the Administrative <br />Assistant position. <br /> <br />Kellie Schmidt has roughly four years of office experience in various support staff roles, and <br />over three years of experience as a community volunteer and event coordinator. <br /> <br />The hourly rate of pay would be $20.61, which is considered step 1 of the union pay scale. With <br />the Council’s approval, Ms. Schmidt would begin employment with the City on April 16th. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve the appointment of Kellie Schmidt for the Administrative Assistant position. <br /> <br />
