CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6H <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee PE, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: May 14, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 18-57, Approving Change Order No. 1, <br />2018 Mill and Overlay Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting council approval of Change Order No. 1 for the 2018 Mill and Overlay <br />Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On April 23, 2018 the City Council awarded the bid for the 2018 Mill and Overlay Project in <br />the amount of $412,951.00 to TA Schifsky and Sons. The bids came in favorably resulting <br />additional available budget. It is the desire of Council to use the budget as the roadways are in <br />need of maintenance. City staff reviewed the 5-year Street Capital Improvement Plan and is <br />recommending advancing a portion of the 2019 project as detailed below. <br /> <br />Proposed Change Order (CO) No. 1 in the amount of $101,851.06 includes Milling and <br />Overlay of additional roadways: <br /> <br />• Timberwolf Trail from Birch Street north 1,400 feet <br />• Sherman Lake Road from Timberwolf Trail east 650 feet <br />• Pondview Circle <br />• Timberwolf Circle <br /> <br />The estimated project cost including base bid, CO No.1, contingencies, and soft costs is <br />$617,600.00. The available funding for the project is $686,700.00. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 18-57 for Change Order No. 1 for the 2018 <br />Mill and Overlay Project. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
