CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 24-80 <br /> <br />APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF BLAINE FOR STREET <br />LIGHTING SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE AT THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN STREET <br />(CSAH 14) AND SUNSET AVENUE (CR 53) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Anoka is reconstructing the intersection of Main Street (CSAH <br />14) and Sunset Avenue (CR 53) with a roundabout in coordination with the Cities of the Lino <br />Lakes and Blaine, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Sunset Avenue (CR 53) is a boarder road between Lino Lakes and Blaine; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the project includes lighting that is the responsibility of the Cities to provide <br />power service and maintenance per the joint powers agreement with Anoka County for the Main <br />Street (CSAH 14) and Sunset Avenue (CR 53) roundabout project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the parties agree that it is in their best interest to share the cost of the <br />roundabout power service and maintenance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 471.59 authorizes political subdivisions of the state to enter into <br />joint powers agreements for the joint exercise of powers common to each. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota that the <br />Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Blaine for the lighting power service and maintenance <br />at the intersection Main Street (CSAH 14) and Sunset Avenue (CR 53) is hereby approved <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute <br />the agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 10th day of June, 2024. <br /> <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />Rob Rafferty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />Hannah Lynch, City Clerk <br />395
