CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 1B <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Roberta Colotti, CMC, City Clerk <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: June 24, 2024 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 24-86, Approving Massage License Renewal <br />Applications <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Council is being asked to consider Resolution No. 24-86, Approving Massage License <br />Renewal Applications. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />Existing massage business licenses in the City of Lino Lakes will expire on June 30, 2024. <br /> <br />The following establishment has submitted a renewal application for an enterprise license: <br />Name of Business D.B.A. <br />Hair & Makeup by Loreen Blue Heron <br /> <br />The following massage therapist has submitted a renewal application: <br />Name of Massage Therapist Doing Business At <br />Melody Nelson Blue Heron Salon <br /> <br />City Code requires that all renewal applicants submit to a background investigation by the Lino <br />Lakes Public Safety Department. Applicants are also required to provide a Certificate of <br />Compliance with MN Workers’ Compensation Law, as well as pay applicable fees. <br /> <br />Staff has reviewed all submitted renewal applications, requisite background investigations have <br />been conducted, and applicants have paid all required fees. No disqualifying factors were <br />identified for any of the applicants. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 24-86, granting renewal of enterprise and <br />individual therapist massage licenses for the period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution No. 24-86 <br />47 of 99
