Consider Resolution No. 24-85, Declaring the Official Intent <br />to Reimburse Certain Expenditures from the Proceeds of a <br />Note from the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />___________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting Council’s consideration to accept bids, award a construction contract, and <br />approve a construction services contract for the Water Treatment Plant. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On May 13, 2024, the City Council ordered the project and authorized the advertisement for <br />bid for the Water Treatment Plant. The Water Treatment Plant will be located at the <br />southwest corner of the intersection of Birch Street and 12th Avenue. The water treatment <br />plant is designed to treat the City’s 2040 needs via a gravity filtration system. The plant will <br />have the option to remove iron and manganese via either conventional or biological filtration. <br /> <br />Bids were received on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. A total of 2 bids were received and are <br />summarized in the following table: <br /> <br />Contractor Base Bid <br />Staab Construction Corporation $29,227,000.00 <br />Magney Construction, Inc $29,367,388.00 <br /> <br />80 of 99
