The next step in the process is to complete the design and bidding of the project. Once the <br />project is bid the Council will consider award of a contract. The Council may wish to consider <br />holding the Assessment Hearing prior to contract award. The project schedule is as follows: <br />Authorize Preparation of Plans and Specifications September 23, 2024 <br />Order Improv't, Approve Plans and Specs, Authorize Ad for Bids December 9, 2024 <br />City Opens Bids January 21, 2025 <br />Assessment Hearing * Tentative Date January 27, 2025 <br />City Council Awards Contract March 10, 2025 <br />Construction Begins April -May, 2025 <br />Final Completion <br />November 30, 2025 <br />The estimated project costs including contingencies and overhead are as follows: <br />Colonial Woods <br />Pine Haven <br />Diane Street and Evergreen Trail <br />Tota I <br />$4,024,209.00 <br />$3,336,193.00 <br />$327,000.00 <br />$7,687,402.00 <br />Funding for the project will be from property tax levy, the City's Area & Unit Trunk Fund, Storm <br />Water Utility fund, and special assessments. The project will be financed by the issuance of <br />Street Reconstruction and Utility Revenue Bonds. Special assessments to the benefitting <br />properties are for a portion of the sewer and water extension cost as presented in the Colonial <br />Woods and Pine Haven Feasibility Studies. <br />WSB LLC. Has submitted a proposal to complete the neighborhood communication and <br />engagement, prepare the final design, construction plans and specifications, and provide bid <br />documents for the 2025 Street Reconstruction and Sewer and Water Extension Project. Colonial <br />Woods $215,000, Pine Haven $195,000, and Diane Street and Evergreen Trail $35,000 for a <br />total amount of $445,000. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 24-102, Authorizing the Preparation of Plans <br />and Specifications, 2025 Street Reconstruction and Sewer and Water Extension Project. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution No. 24-102 <br />2.
