CITF
IN KES
To: Katie Larsen, City Planner
Economic Development
Advisory Committee Memo
From: Michael Grochala, Community Development Director
Date: September 6, 2024
Re: Economic Development Advisory Committee — Wilkinson Waters Comments
The EDAC discussed the Wilkinson Waters Concept Plan at their September 5, 2024 meeting
and had the following comments:
1. Based on developer's prior projects to the south, which include high architectural
standards and emphasis on environmental preservation and restoration, this appears
to be an ideal partnership for the City.
2. High Architectural and landscaping standards should be established particularly along
Centerville Road and gateway area.
3. Landscaping at gateway
4. Public recreational opportunities should be provided, passive or active.
5. Supports commercial development along the entryway
6. No issue with the inclusion of studio apartments provided number is capped.
7. No need to require a specific affordability component to development.
8. Restoration of natural areas should be incorporated into project
9. Water service agreement with White Bear Township should be long term until Lino
Lakes is able to provide service to the area.
9 Page 1
