CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 3113 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, Human Resources and Communications Manager <br />MEETING DATE: October 28, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Appointment of Administrative Assistant <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Marjorie Schlueter to the <br />Administrative Assistant position for the Public Safety Department. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is <br />recommending the approval of Schlueter for the full-time position. <br />Schlueter is currently working as an Executive Assistant to the President at Anoka -Ramsey <br />Community College. She has an Associate's degree from Century College. <br />The starting wage for Schlueter will be at $32.07 per hour, which is step 6 of a 6 step wage scale <br />for the Administrative Assistant position. With the Council's approval, Schlueter would start in <br />the position on November 14, 2024. <br />The hiring of Schlueter will backfill the Administrative Assistant vacancy that was created on <br />July 28, 2024. The 2024 Adopted Budget includes one full-time Administrative Assistant in the <br />Public Safety Department. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Please approve the appointment of Marjorie Schlueter to the Administrative Assistant position. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />
