DRAFT MINUTES <br /> <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />PLANNING & ZONING BOARD MINUTES <br /> <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Chair Root called the Lino Lakes Planning & Zoning Board meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />on October 9, 2024. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Mr. Root declared public comment open at 6:32 p.m. <br /> <br />Sam Bennett, 6841 Lakeview Drive, Lino Lakes, MN 55014, Mr. Bennett wanted to <br />speak about the 2040 Comprehensive Plan. He disagrees about the intention of the <br />plan and thinks the plan should promote more sense of community, support businesses <br />and benefit the residents of Lino Lakes. He does not understand why Town Center was <br />zoned industrial and thinks it would be a good opportunity for residential housing. He <br />also thinks the comp plan makes it difficult for residents to enjoy amenities in the City <br />and thinks Town Center would be a good opportunity for residential housing. He does <br />not feel that there is a Town Center. Mr. Bennett disagrees how some areas were <br />labeled and thinks there should be a limitation on the building sizes with restrictions on <br />width and height. He thinks when low rise and mid-rise apartments fall in disrepair it <br />affects a large amount of people. He thinks density using a four plex or smaller allows <br />the resident to own their lots and the density is still achieved. He does not want to see <br />large companies coming in building the same houses.
