CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 6C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, PE City Engineer <br />MEETING DATE: January 13, 2025 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution 25-04, Order Project, Approve the Plans <br />and Specifications and Authorize the Ad for Bid, Market Place <br />Drive Realignment Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting Council approval to order the project and authorize the ad for bid for the <br />Market Place Drive Realignment Project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On October 11, 2021, the City Council approved the preparation of the plans and specifications for <br />the Market Place Drive Realignment Project. The City then completed a roadway alignment <br />which identified the necessary land acquisition. Easements have been obtained and the <br />remaining land needed for the right of way dedicated with the Lino Retail 2.0 final plat. <br />The project is conditioned on the sale of City property, north of 77t" to Java Companies. The <br />closing on the property will be scheduled prior to the City awarding the construction contract. <br />Staff are working with the buyer to set a date. Below is a tentative schedule. <br />The estimated total project cost is $1,250,000.00. Funding the project is from land sale <br />proceeds, Area and Unit Fund and Municipal State Aid Street funds. <br />The project schedule: <br />Authorize Preparation of Plans and Specifications <br />October 11, 2021 <br />Order Improvement, Approve Plans and Specs, Authorize Ad for Bids <br />January 13, 2025 <br />City Opens Bids <br />February 14, 2025 <br />Closing and City Property <br />April 1-9, 2025 <br />City Council Awards Contract <br />April 14, 2025 <br />Construction Begins <br />April -May, 2025 <br />Final Completion <br />August 30, 2025 <br />
