$480,000.00 Sanitary Sewer and Water Assessments <br />$1,124,530.00 Trunk Area and Unit Fund <br />$1,604,530.00 Total <br />The amount to be assessed against the abutting benefitted properties is $480,000.00. The <br />proposed assessment role is enclosed. The assessments would be payable over 15 years at an <br />interest rate of 5 percent. <br />A property owner may pay the entire assessment on the property with interest accrued to the <br />date of payment to the City. However, no interest will be charged if the entire assessment is <br />paid by November 1, 2025. The amount will be certified to Anoka County prior to November <br />30, 2025 for collection with property taxes payable in 2026. <br />A public hearing is required by law prior to consideration to adopt the assessments. Property <br />owners have the opportunity to comment on the proposed assessment during the hearing. <br />Notice of the hearing was published in the Quad Press two weeks prior to the hearing. Mailed <br />notice was also provided to property owners in accordance with statutory provisions. <br />Written or oral objections to the assessments may be considered at the meeting. No appeal to <br />district court may be taken as to the amount of an assessment unless a written objection signed <br />by the affected property owner is filed with the municipal clerk prior to the assessment hearing <br />or presented to the presiding officer at the hearing. <br />Pending completion of the hearing, the City Council may consider awarding the construction <br />contract on March 24, 2025. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 25-36 Adopting Assessments for the 2025 <br />Street Reconstruction and Municipal Sewer and Water Extension Project for the Pine Haven <br />neighborhood. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
