Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. <br />96 <br />97 3C) Authorize Participation in an Application for Deicing Grant through the Rice Creek <br />98 Watershed District Urban Stormwater Remediation Cost - Sharing Program — Administrator <br />99 Karlson reviewed the proposal to join with three other cities in applying for a grant that would <br />100 improve the city's winter maintenance operations by setting up a system to brine roadways. This <br />101 would be a best management practice, reducing costs as well as environmental impacts. The city's <br />102 share of the grant, if it is approved, would be approximately $15,000 and there would be additional <br />103 cost to the city in setting up the program for such things as equipment. <br />104 <br />105 Council Member Roeser moved to authorize the city's participation in an application for the grant as <br />106 presented. Council Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. <br />107 <br />108 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />109 <br />110 There was no report from the Public Safety Department. <br />111 <br />112 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />113 <br />114 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br />115 <br />116 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />117 <br />118 Item 6A was deleted from the agenda at the beginning of the meeting. <br />119 <br />120 6B) Resolution No. 12 -20, Revoking Non - existing Rehbeins Street and Non - Existing 73rd Street <br />121 Extensions from Municipal State Aid Street System — City Engineer Wedel explained that the <br />122 resolution would effectively revoke two small state aid street segments in the city. Staff just recently <br />123 found that the city is over - designated in the area of state aid roadway and must revoke something. <br />124 The two segments recommended for revocation in this resolution don't exist and removing them will <br />125 put the city in compliance. There will be a corresponding decrease in the amount of state aid received <br />126 from the state each year. <br />127 <br />128 Council Member Roeser moved to approve Resolution No. 12 -20 as presented. Council Member <br />129 O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. <br />130 <br />131 6C) Resolution No. 12 -21, Approving Notice of Intent to Bond on the 2012 Intersection Signal <br />132 Improvements — Community Development Director Grochala reported that staff is continuing to <br />133 move forward with the voter approved traffic signal projects at Birch/Ware and Main/Lake Drive. <br />134 The city is required to give this notice of intent to bond in order to move forward with the project. <br />
