Consider Resolution No. 12 -74, Approving Supplemental <br />Authorization Lake/Main and Birch/Ware Intersection <br />Improvement Project. <br />ACTION REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting council consideration to approve a supplemental agreement with TKDA for <br />engineering services provided that are outside the scope of the original professional services <br />agreement. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council authorized TKDA to prepare the plans & specifications for the Lake/Main & <br />Birch/Ware intersection projects in January of 2011. During the plan development process <br />design work was completed that was not originally contemplated, such as the Market Place <br />signal components and the overlay of Lake Drive from Main Street to 77t. Additional work was <br />also required due to design changes necessary to meet storm water requirements, additional <br />right -of -way acquisition, and Mn/DOT state aid requirements. TKDA has submitted a <br />supplemental authorization request covering the additional items for both projects totaling $137, <br />291.94. <br />Staff is working with Anoka County and WSB Inc. to review the request. At this time we are <br />proposing approval of the following items: <br />Lake Drive/Main Street <br />• Millers Parking Lot Design and updates $ 3,449.98 <br />• Signal Justification Report updates $ 1,098.19 <br />• Soil Borings $ 1,833.77 <br />• Traffic Counts $ 525.00 <br />• Market Place signal/sidewalk $12,547.48 <br />• Crack and Seat (overlay) $19,908.92 <br />Subtotal Lake /Main $39,363.34 <br />Birch/Ware <br />• • Sioux Lane Watermain Extension $1,994.06 <br />• SJR Updates for New Traffic $ 720.21 <br />
