Memorandum
DATE: February 7, 2005
TO: Mayor and City Council
/FROM: James E. Studenski, City Engineer "'2
RE: Well No. 5
Based on previous discussions with City Council, staff wants to run through the
pumphouse structure with City Council to make sure the overall design is in
accordance with their concerns. The recommended size of the building is 20 feet by
22 feet. The exterior of the structure would be brick and block. This layout is sized
just for the mechanics of the well and will not provide any additional storage within the
building.
The results of the soil borings have been completed and a minimal amount of soil
correction will be necessary. The structure can therefore feasibly be located at the
Captain's Place site. As with all well projects, the well drilling and pumphouse
structure will be bid as two separate items. This allows the project to keep moving
forward while the structure is under design. The results of the well drilling are then
incorporated into the final design details prior to it being bid.
TKDA staff will be at the work session to go through these items.
600 Town Center Parkway, Lino Lakes, Minnesota 55014-1182
Phone: 651 -982 -2400 • Fax: 651 - 982 -2499 • TDD: 651- 982 -2410
