• <br />• <br />4) Is it true that the Charter Commission can spend in excess of the <br />budget if an unforeseen need arises? How might we go about receiving <br />additional monies should the need arise? <br />As stated above, state statute provides that the City must pay up <br />to $1,500 per year for authorized expenditures. Should <br />expenditures be expected to exceed that amount, authorization <br />must be sought and received from the City Council. The Charter <br />Commission may make a request of the City Council for additional <br />funding during the annual budgeting process. <br />I hope that this answers the Charter Commission's questions.
