R <br />i) <br />C <br />ITEM 3B <br />MEDIATION SERVICES FOR ANOKA COUNTY DAY <br />MAY 24, 2005 <br />WHEREAS, Mediation Services for Anoka County was formed in 1987 to <br />provide voluntary mediation services to residents of Anoka County, to <br />promote and educate the Anoka County community in ways that <br />encourage peace and harmony, and to supplement the legal system by <br />providing an alternative process all community members can easily <br />access; and <br />WHEREAS, Mediation Services for Anoka County <br />k_ 's volunteer's <br />contributed 3,492 hours service to the community totaling $204, 625.00 <br />bringing peace and resolution to Anoka pounty individuals, families, <br />schools, neighborhoods, community, workplaces and businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, Mediation Services for Anoka County has provided a <br />resource for law enforcement, Lino Lakes city staff and public officials, <br />and school district; and <br />WHEREAS, Sue Ditcher, MA Johnson, RW Johnson, Judy Rolow, and <br />Paul Talbot, have worked to help the citizens of Lino Lakes to actively <br />manage conflict and reduce violence through education and conflict <br />resolution services; <br />Now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that 1, John Bergeson, Mayor of the <br />City of Lino Lakes, do hereby proclaim that Tuesday, May 24th, 2005, as <br />MEDIATION SERVICES FOR ANOKA COUNTY DAY <br />in Lino Lakes, Minnesota and urge all citizens to recognize the <br />importance of community service. <br />- 1 8 - <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, 1 have <br />set my hand and caused the seal <br />the City of Lino Lakes to be affixe <br />this day of , 2005. <br />John Bergeson, Mayor <br />
