• <br />• <br />STAFF MEMBER <br />DATE <br />SUBJECT <br />AGENDA ITEM 3 C <br />Daniel Tesch, Director of Administration <br />9 May 2005 <br />Memorandum of Understanding with Local 49 <br />Boiler's License <br />VOTE REQUIRED 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />When our Building Technician Wayne Meyers resigned earlier this year, we were left without <br />anyone on staff with a Boiler's License. <br />Rick DeGardner has assigned Mr. Tim Hillesheim, Lead 'Utility Worker the responsibility to <br />obtain a boiler's license, perform daily checks and be first on the call list in case of emergency. <br />Rick and I have met with Tim and his union representative (Local 49) and have agreed to <br />S1,500.00/yr in additional compensation for this added responsibility. This amount is <br />significantly less than what would have to spend to contract with a private company for the same <br />service. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Approve the Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U.)with Local 49 <br />2. Not approve the M.O.U. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Number One. <br />
