Pecchia, Chief of Police <br />DATE July 25, 2005 <br />TOPIC National Night Out, August 2, 2005 <br />VOTES REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />r <br />BACKGROUND <br />L <br />National Night Out was designed to heighten crime and drug <br />prevention awareness, generate support and participation in local <br />anticrime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police - <br />community relations and send a message to criminals letting them <br />know their neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. <br />Residents lock their doors, turn on their outside lights from <br />6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and get together with their neighbors. <br />National Night Out is for all neighborhoods and businesses in <br />Lino Lakes, not just established neighborhood watch groups. <br />Staff is requesting that council acknowledge and read the <br />attached proclamation in our support of designating August 2, <br />2005 as National Night Out in the City of Lino Lakes. <br />r I <br />OPTIONS <br />L I <br />1.
