BWSR (Board of Soil & Water Resources) WMO (Watershed Management Organizations) SWCD (Soil & Water Conservation Districts) JPB (Joint Powers Board) WD (Watershed Districts) AgBMP (Agricultural Best Management Practices) Arts /Cultural Heritage Fund This fund administered in part by the Minnesota Historical Society and in part by the Minnesota State Arts Board and is dedicated to supporting arts, arts education and arts access, and preserving Minnesota's history and cultural heritage. The legislature directed that the funding be used for projects that "preserve and enhance access to Minnesota's history and its cultural and historical resources." Historical Society eligible projects include acquisition, restoration and preservation of historic buildings, providing access to the arts, and programs related to heritage tourism and preservation planning. The grants fall into six categories: • Statewide Historical and Cultural Grants • Programs conducted by the Minnesota Historical Society • Statewide History Partnership Projects • Exhibit on Minnesota's regions and cultures • Statewide Survey of Historical and Archaeological Sites • Digital History Library Local, county, regional or historical and cultural organizations are eligible to apply for grants. All funds allocated for the 2010 -2011 biennium have been awarded. The Legislature also appropriated a portion of the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund to the Minnesota State Arts Board and Minnesota's eleven regional arts councils. These funds are intended to make high - quality arts experiences more accessible and available to Minnesotans throughout the state. Artists, arts organizations, community groups, human service organizations, public agencies, educational institutions, and others are eligible. Outdoor Heritage Fund: The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages this program to provide competitive matching grants of up to $400,000 to local, regional, state, and national non - profit organizations, including government entities. The grants must restore, protect or enhance prairies, wetlands, forests, or habitat for fish, game or wildlife in Minnesota. Facility development or improvement projects such as parking lots, roads, water access sites, and hunter blinds are generally not considered habitat projects and will only be permitted on a very limited basis if necessary to accomplish a primary wildlife habitat restoration or enhancement project, or as part of the initial development of newly acquired lands. On -going maintenance is not eligible. 4
