• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 3B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Daniel Tesch, Director of Administration <br />MEETING DATE: 11 July 2011 <br />TOPIC: Labor Agreement with L.E.L.S Local 299 <br />(police officers) <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff has been negotiating with L.E.L.S. Local 299 over the past several months. Last <br />week we were able to come to a tentative agreement on the terms and conditions of <br />employment for 2011. Changes to this contract include: <br />Duration: One Year <br />Wages: 0% increase <br />Clothing Allowance: $20.00 increase — equal to Sergeants <br />Court Time: Increase minimum time compensated from two hours to three <br />hours. We have also negotiated language that states "An <br />employee may be placed on standby, as determined by the <br />appropriate authority, and shall be compensated two hours <br />pay and the employee's regular rate." This second sentence <br />should save the city money in terms of Court Time. <br />Health Insurance: Bring the Employer contribution to dental to match other groups <br />In the city. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the 2011 labor agreement with L.E.L.S. 299 for 2011 <br />P33 <br />
