• <br />• <br />• <br />WS — Item 1 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item 1 <br />Date: November 7, 2011 <br />To: City Council <br />From: Michael Grochala <br />Re: Temporary Signage <br />Background <br />In August of 2011, the City Council received comments from a local business regarding <br />the city's temporary sign requirements. The council forwarded the issue to the Planning <br />and Zoning Board. The board took no further action citing that an extensive update of <br />the ordinance had recently taken place. Despite direct efforts to involve the business <br />community, little public comment was received during that process. The board <br />welcomed businesses to come forward at open mike if they had specific issues with the <br />city sign regulations. <br />At the October 2011 Planning & Zoning Board meeting Chair Tralle questioned Mayor <br />Reinert on the City's enforcement policy and process. Mayor Reinert invited the <br />Planning and Zoning board to the November council work session to discuss sign issues. <br />Requested Council Direction <br />No action required. <br />
