{
AGENDA ITEM 4B
DATE: June 10, 2002
TO: Mayor and City Councilmembers
FROM: Ann Blair, City Clerk
RE: 2002 Liquor Compliance Checks and Violations
Attached find a Notice of Hearing letter issued to Steve Arhip of Lakes Liquor. The
letter explains the purpose of the public hearing and the process. In short, the
Council will determine whether or not this establishment violated Lino Lakes
Ordinance 701 and what, if any, action should be taken.
Police Chief Dave Pecchia reviewed this matter for the Council during the June 5,
2002 work session. He will be at the public hearing and he will give an overview of
the Police Department's findings.
If the Council determines either establishment violated the Lino Lakes City Code
701, the City Clerk's Office recommends imposing the following penalties:
1. Two -day liquor license suspension, dates to be determined by Council.
2. The City posts notice of closing.
3. $1,500 financial penalty, $1,000 refundable if in one year, no same or
similar offense occurs.
4. Require all employees who serve liquor to attend server training.
5. Mandatory liquor code handbook to be available to all employees at
all times.
