AGENDA ITEM 4C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Ann Blair, City Clerk <br />TO: City Council <br />DATE: June 10, 2002 <br />RE: <br />VOTE REQUIRED: <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Consider 2002 Liquor License Renewal for <br />Lakes Liquor of Lino Lakes <br />Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br />The 2002 liquor licenses are scheduled to be renewed, effect July 1, 2002. Lakes Liquor <br />has submitted an application for renewal, along with the required documentation. <br />Staff has completed the necessary steps to verify that Lakes Liquor has addressed the <br />application requirements for this license, both State and local, including maintaining <br />proper insurance coverage, being current on required taxes and payments, and completion <br />of background checks. <br />Detective Matt Vana of the Police Department has completed a background criminal <br />history check and Police Chief Dave Pecchia has reviewed the information pertaining to <br />compliance issues for the Council at the June 5, 2002 Work Session. Both Detective <br />Vana and Police Chief Pecchia have indicated there is no new information which would <br />lead to a recommendation of denial of the license at this time. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve the 2002 Liquor License Renewal Application for the 49 Club subject to. <br />the City Council's disciplinary action regarding liquor violation. <br />2. Approve the 2002 Liquor License Renewal Application for the 49 Club. <br />3. Deny the 2002 Liquor License Renewal Application <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommendation is option 1. <br />
