40 PROCLAMATION <br />• <br />• <br />NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2002 <br />WHEREAS, the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) <br />is once again sponsoring a unique, nationwide crime and drug <br />prevention program on August 6, 2002 called "National Night Out "; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the "19th Annual National Night Out" provides <br />a unique opportunity for Lino Lakes to join forces with thousands <br />of other communities across the country in promoting cooperative, <br />police- community crime and drug prevention efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes plays a vital role in <br />assisting the Lino Lakes Police Department through joint crime <br />and drug prevention efforts in Lino Lakes and is supporting <br />"National Night Out 2002" locally; and <br />WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of Lino <br />Lakes be aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and <br />the impact that their participation can have on reducing crime <br />and drug abuse in Lino Lakes; and <br />WHEREAS, police- community partnerships and neighborhood <br />safety and awareness and cooperation are important themes of the <br />"National Night Out" program; <br />NOW, THEREFORE WE, the Lino Lakes City Councilmembers, <br />do hereby call upon all citizens of Lino Lakes to join the Lino <br />Lakes City Council and the National Association of Town Watch in <br />supporting "19th Annual National Night Out" on August 6, 2002. <br />FURTHER, LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT We, the Lino Lakes <br />City Councilmembers, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 6, 2002 <br />as "National Night Out" in Lino Lakes. <br />Jean Viger, Deputy Clerk <br />John Bergeson, Mayor <br />
