Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: August 12, 2002 <br />TOPIC: Public Hearing on Improvement — 21st Avenue Street and Storm <br />Sewer Improvements. <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote required to close the public hearing <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the March 12, 2001, City Council meeting, a study was ordered to evaluate <br />the construction of roadways and storm sewer and the associated costs on 21St <br />Avenue, south of Main Street, and a portion of Northern Lights Boulevard. The <br />feasibility report was presented at the April 23, 2001, Council Meeting. The <br />feasibility report was revised on May 29, 2001, by reducing the length of the <br />street improvements on 21st Avenue. Staff has updated the estimated costs and <br />the project timetable for that report. <br />Following the public hearing, staff will meet with the Centerville staff to further <br />discuss the proposed project and the Joint Powers Agreement (JPA). The <br />revised JPA will be prepared, submitted to Centerville staff for review, then <br />brought to the Lino Lakes City Council for consideration. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Continue the Public Hearing. <br />2. Close the Public Hearing. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Staff recommends closing the Public Hearing. <br />
