Pecchia, Public Safety <br />Director /Chief of Police <br />DATE: September 23, 2002 <br />TOPIC: <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 02 -126 <br />Accepting U.S. Department of Justice, <br />Office of Community Oriented Policing <br />Services Making Officer Redeployment <br />Effective (MORE) Grant <br />VOTES REQUIRED: 3/5 vote <br />!BACKGROUND <br />The Lino Lakes Police Department has been selected to <br />receive grant funds in the amount of $12,863.00 to purchase <br />hardware and software that will allow the department to <br />continue its expansion into the area of making information <br />more easily accessible to officers while in their squad <br />cars. We are asking the City Council to accept this grant on <br />behalf of the City of Lino Lakes and the Lino Lakes Police <br />Department. The City's matching funds /local share is 250 <br />which was included in the budget process. <br />'OPTIONS 1 <br />1. Adopt Resolution No. 02 -126 accepting the grant funds <br />to purchase the needed hardware and software through <br />the COPS Making Officer Redeployment Effective (MORE) <br />grant. <br />2. Return the Resolution to staff for further information. <br />'RECOMMENDATION II <br />Option No. 1 <br />
