AGENDA ITEM NO. 6A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE November 11, 2002 <br />TOPIC Consideration of Resolution 02 -166, Accepting <br />Donations for the Family Turkey Shoot Special Event <br />Vote Required Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department sought program sponsors for its <br />annual Family Turkey Shoot to be held on Saturday, November 16, 2002. Since its start <br />in 1998, over eight hundred individuals have attended this event. The event is a free <br />holiday event for the families of Lino Lakes that consists of low -key competition in a <br />variety of athletic events: baseball throw, frisbee toss, floor hockey shoot, football throw, <br />basketball free throw and beanbag toss. Other event attractions: inflatable arch <br />bounce, removable sport tattoos and turkey coloring sheets. A new addition to the <br />event this year will be a drawing for a giant stuffed animal. <br />The following organizations have generously donated funds to help defer the costs of <br />this event: <br />Circle Pines Lexington Lions $330 <br />Lino Lakes State Bank $300 <br />Forest Lake Area Athletic Association $100 <br />Please find attached Resolution No. 02 -166 for your consideration. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1.
