This easement location in particular is an ecologically sensitive <br />location for future trail access consideration. J.P. added this is an ecologically significant <br />area and future trail access might be a consideration (although very expensive) can be <br />pointed out when it comes up. <br />1 & L Mesabi/Apollo Drive <br />1. Natural vegetation established is recommended in lieu of sod where practical design <br />standards may be applied. <br />2. Work with city Environmental Specialist in choosing plants appropriate to the site. <br />Consider native indigenous prairie plants that are presently re- establishing themselves <br />on site. <br />3. All outdoor lighting should be both energy efficient and environmentally friendly. <br />The citizens of Lino Lakes enjoy the night sky and the animals that fly through it. <br />High intensity lighting or lighting that is allowed to scatter over a large area <br />diminishes the ability to view these amenities. Therefore, lighting shall be low - <br />impact, low in stature, downwardly focussed, and no spill. <br />4. Crushed granite is considered an impervious service. Considering this, where does <br />this put us in terms of our zoning requirements for use of this space? <br />5. The Environmental Board is concerned that the site and site usage be designed to <br />minimize the potential for oil and other hazardous materials to enter the water system. <br />Potential pollution from equipment (used or otherwise prone to leakage) stored on the <br />site should be actually considered when this project is reviewed. <br />
