• <br />• <br />Policy: Computer System & Internet Use <br />Approved: 13 March 2000 <br />Effective Date: 13 March 2000 <br />Resolution: 2000 -27 <br />Location: Personnel Policy — Section <br />A. Purpose <br />The purpose of this policy is to protect the security and integrity of the city's information systems <br />and to provide employees with standards of behavior when using the computer system. <br />B. Scope <br />This policy is applicable to all persons who operate any of the city's computer equipment. <br />C. Use of System <br />The information system at the City of Lino Lakes shall be used to conduct city business. No <br />personal use of the system is allowed during working hours. Employees are allowed to use the <br />computer system during non - business hours, as the city believes employees will benefit from <br />practice with computers. Permission for personal use must be obtained by the employee's <br />department director. Personal use of the city's computer system for any purposes which results in <br />personal profit or pecuniary gain, or for any purpose which requires storage capacity for any <br />length of time, is not allowed. <br />Users should log -off the system at the end of each day. This will prevent unauthorized use of the <br />system, which may be attributed to the employee and protects the city's system and data. <br />All information developed on, or introduced to the city's computer system is the property of the <br />City of Lino Lakes, regardless of where it was created. Likewise, all information developed by a <br />Lino Lakes employee on computers outside our system, if in conjunction with their employment <br />with the city, is the property of the City of Lino Lakes. <br />
