INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT <br />This Agreement made and entered into effective the day of , 2000, by and <br />between the City of Lino Lakes (hereinafter referred to as "The City ") located at 600 Town Center <br />Parkway, Lino Lakes, Minnesota 55014 -1182 and Marilyn G. Anderson (hereinafter referred to as <br />"Anderson" or "Contractor ") with an address of <br />WHEREAS, the City is required to provide governmental services associated with the <br />November 2000 general election; and <br />WHEREAS, the City will be required to review and, if necessary, redraw voting districts <br />based upon the results of the 2000 census; and <br />WHEREAS, Anderson is experienced and knowledgeable in assisting in preparations for <br />and implementation of general elections (hereinafter referred to as election services) and activities <br />associated with redrawing voting districts (hereinafter referred to as redrawing voting district <br />services); and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to engage Anderson to assist in providing these services; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows: <br />1. The City hereby engages the Contractor to provide expertise and assist the Lino <br />Lakes City Clerk in meeting the City's duties and responsibilities in preparing for and implementing <br />the November 2000 general election (election services). The Contractor represents that with her <br />expertise and assistance, the City will meet its duties and responsibilities in preparing for and <br />implementing the November 2000 general election. <br />2. The City hereby engages the Contractor to provide expertise and assist the Lino <br />Lakes City Clerk in meeting the City's duties and responsibilities in redrawing voting districts based <br />upon the results of the 2000 census. The Contractor represents that with her expertise and <br />assistance, the City will meet its duties and responsibilities in redrawing voting districts based upon <br />the results of the 2000 census. <br />3. The Contractor shall perform under this Agreement as an independent contractor and <br />nothing contained herein is intended or shall be construed to make or constitute the Contractor as <br />the City's agent, employee, partner, joint venturer, or representative, but rather the Contractor shall <br />act and perform hereunder according to her own means and methods and in and under her exclusive <br />charge and control. <br />4. The Contractor will provide these services as a skilled professional. Accordingly, <br />she shall not be limited nor assigned to any fixed days or hours of work, but rather may render <br />performance of her obligations hereunder at such times as she in her best business judgment may <br />choose. The parties have estimated that the Contractor will spend approximately one hundred (100) <br />hours on each project. <br />
