Lino Lakes
Environmental
Division
Memo
To: Jeff Smyser
From: Marty Asleson
Date: 06/01/00
Re: Blue Bill Ponds Tree Preservation
I have reviewed the tree preservation plan for Blue Bill Ponds and have the following
comments:
• On the Eastem Edge of the woodland on the Western side of the development,
tree protection fence should be extended from tree no. 2383 to tree no. 2386.
There appears to be a gap here. Although these trees may fall on other
properties, root zones should be protected on these trees.
• Tree no 2394 is a double clump oak tree. The southem most stem (22" dia.)
should be removed for safety reasons.
• There should be agreement to install vibratory plow lines in the same tree line
area to control oak wilt. Trees appear to be dying due to a possible recent oak
wilt infection.
• Protection fence needs to be indicated on the plan protecting the Westem edge
of the woodland on the Eastern side of the development. Although these trees
are not necessarily on the property, root zones on these trees need to be
protected.
• All protection measures have to be installed and inspected before soil disturbance
on the property.
• This is the oak wilt season. All necessary pruning on oaks and all accidental
wounding of oaks must be painted immediately.
• Page 1
