COUNCIL MINUTES AUGUST 28, 2000 <br />Staff advised the endorsement would not have been brought forward if the City was not on a time <br />frame relating to the application. The design standards need to be looked at as a culmination of what <br />the City has been doing for years. The Council is only endorsing the concept of a mixed use high <br />density neighborhood type development. <br />Council Member Reinert stated definitions of terms used within the design standards need to be <br />discussed. <br />Council Member Carlson moved to adopt the following statement of endorsement of the Town Center <br />standards: <br />Endorse the preliminary /draft Town Center standards as recommended by staff with the <br />understanding that the City will revise specific language and requirements in the standards. <br />(The signage standards (section 3.8) will be temporarily pulled from the standards for further <br />review.) Revisions will occur prior to passage and as part of t .,� ocess amending the City's <br />zoning ordinance to include standards for a new Town CenrTzonr district. <br />Council Member O'Donnell seconded the motion.
