•
•
AGENDA ITEM 7D
STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Powell, City Engineer
COUNCIL MEETING DATE: December 11, 2000
TOPIC: PUBLIC HEARING, First Reading, Ordinance No. 99 -17, Easement
Vacation, Oak Brook Peninsula
VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required to Close the Hearing
BACKGROUND:
This matter was last on the City Council agenda on July 24, 2000, at which time the
hearing was continued to December 11, 2000. The property owners requesting the
vacation, and their neighbors, were in mediation to resolve this and other issues. When
I recently contacted the residents who requested the vacation, they indicated this issue
was addressed during the mediation. I then asked if they would like to withdraw their
request for the vacation, they said they would. I also contacted the neighbor and
informed them the request has been withdrawn and the City would not take action on
the matter.
The hearing should be closed and no other action is required. Staff will send a letter to
the requestor confirming termination of the vacation request consideration. We will also
request a copy of the results of the mediation to verify no other action is required by the
City.
OPTIONS:
1. Close the public hearing.
2. Continue the public hearing.
0 RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 1 -Close the public hearing.
