• • so MUSA Issue: Lake Drive Site of Existing VFW In 1999, the City approved a site plan and CUP for a new building addition to the existing VFW post on Lake Drive at Lois Lane. However, that site is not within the MUSA. A condition of approval for that site plan and CUP approval was that "the MUSA designation for this parcel shall be resolved prior to the utility connection." That is, the new building won't be connected to utilities until it has MUSA. This prevents the building from being constructed without MUSA. The City will not have MUSA to allocate for the site until the comprehensive plan is approved by both the City and the Metropolitan Council. One option was for the VFW to take the MUSA from their Apollo Drive site and put it on the Lake Drive site for the new building. However, that could interfere with the ability to sell the Apollo land. Staff has discussed this with Mr. Dean Johnson, Post Commander of the VFW. Mr. Johnson informs us that they would prefer to keep the MUSA on the Apollo site and wait for new MUSA for the Lake Drive site. Therefore, the new building at the existing Lake Drive VFW will wait until the comprehensive plan is approved by the City and the Met Council. The City can then allocate MUSA to the VFW site. OPTIONS 1. Adopt Resolution 01 -45 approving the minor subdivision (if the required revised survey and shared driveway agreement documents are provided before the meeting.) 2.
