The 180 <br />mayor concurred that involvement in a plan is key, suggesting that the youth athletic 181 <br />associations in the area are interested and a goal has to be to get them involved (per haps 182 <br />through matching what they can fundraise). 183 <br /> 184 <br />Community Development Director Grochala noted the possibility of bonding for capital 185 <br />funds. An amount such as $40,000 budget ed each year could be debt service on an 186 <br />$800,000 bond project. That’s how you could manage financing. He suggests that the 187 <br />city look at what can be done moving forward in phases, including phased financing. 188 <br /> 189 <br />Mayor Reinert said he sees the vision for that land and he thinks it is a good one; selling 190 <br />the land isn’t what he wants t o do. Moving forward needs to be around a manageable 191 <br />goal and one that will create momentum and get people involved. 192 <br /> 193 <br />Council Member Stoesz suggested an option of letting someone else develop facilities – 194 <br />like Schwan’s for instance. He believes that t he National Sports Center group in Blaine 195 <br />is looking for more fields. The mayor suggested that a casual call to that group just 196 <br />feeling out the situation would be approp riate but certainly no official offers. 197 <br /> 198 <br />Staff will explore bonding opportunities and council will engage with the sports 199 <br />organizations in the area (such as youth baseball). Staff will also look at park dedication 200 <br />fees to make sure they are at an appropriate level. 201 <br /> 202 <br />9. Monthly Progress Report – Administrator Karlson highlighted the following: 203 <br /> 204 <br />ECFE Building - Realtor reports that the couple interested in opening a day care is still 205 <br />awaiting final approval of their business financing. There is another interested party also. 206 <br /> 207 <br />Centennial Fire District – One meeting has been held amo ng Lino Lakes ’ staff, assets 208 <br />are being value d , and some consultation will be sought on the process of moving ahead 209 <br />on fire services for the city including personnel. The mayor promised work ahead on 210 <br />options and that professional services will be used as needed. 211 <br /> 212 <br />The mayor recalled a council request for a summary of expenses (fleet related) separated 213 <br />by year. Administrator Karlson will follow up. Council Member Stoesz asked that the 214 <br />information include allocation information – i.e. costs per employe e .
