Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, Minnesota – Management an d Operations Assessment (2011) <br />The Mdewakanton Emergency Services protect all of the assets of the tribe. In addition to the <br />full -time re sidents, the MES also protects a major casino operation, thus the population <br />increases significantly, especially during weekends. The MES has one station and is operating <br />multiple response vehicles from the f acility. The purpose of this study was to anal yze the <br />performance of the MES’s management structure and operation. Particularly important was a <br />detailed analyses of the MES’s ability to provide effective services including management, <br />operations, training and support services. <br /> <br />Although not part of t he SMSC fire study, Mr. Unmacht worked closely with Mr. Rudnicki for <br />many years as the County Administrator in Scott County. City of Virginia, M innesota – Fire Department Study (2013 ) <br />The City retained Springsted to conduct an organizational review of the Fire Department and <br />the EMS service. The study encompassed a cost benefit analysis of the present ambulance <br />service as well as a facility and station location assessment, staffing analysis, potential for <br />intergovernmental agreements, operational culture and assessment of present equipment.
