The Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department has reviewed the worksheet and makes
the following comments:
• the proposed development is adjacent to the Rice Creek Chain -of -lakes Regional Park
Reserve;
• the EAW has identified natural resource issues and is complete;
• the proposed development will have minimal impact to the park property.
From our perspective, the consultants, SEH, have done a thorough task of identifying and mitigating
impacts on the adjacent wetlands and the surrounding natural environment. We are glad to see that
the proposed land use will be buffered by the existing woodlands and wetlands. We are also
encouraged to see that these areas will be designated as out -lots held in public ownership.
As we discussed, future trail access into the park will offer many benefits to people living and working
there. Once you begin to develop trail plans, we should take a closer look at potential corridors and
connections that will work with our existing and propsed trail system plan within the park.
We appr
develop
S
L-c=
N' Eoloff
P • rk Planner /RLA
John VonDellnde
Michael McDonough, Met Council
e the opportunity to review your plans. Further coordination between the City, Anoka
County Parks Department, and developer will occur to identify the proposed trail corridors.
