Years 10+ r;
The focus of management after the first 10 years of the conservation easement wi I be maintenance of the restoration
activities. Many of the maintenance activities necessary' will be similar to those carried out during the initial 10 years.
While management practices like prescribed burning will decrease in frequency, others may increase such as the
control of buckthorn as forested areas mature >j
Connectivity to Other Natural Areas
The Eagle Brook Conservation Area is adjacent to land owned by the City of St Paul Water Utility, which is in the
process of transfering land to Anoka County Parks. Placing this portion of the propety in an easement would fit into
The preservation effort that is already happening in that part. of the. watershed.::
• In addition, this area was inventoried and is included in the Lino Lakes Greenways Plan as part of the Rice Lake
Greenway Hub. Wildlife hubs are large contiguous plant communities often in public ownership. Hubs often contain
high quality natural communities with a high interior edge ratio making them suitable habitat for a wide variety of
wildlife species requiring; large home ranges. Within hubs there is a mosaic of diverse upland and wetland habitats
This greenway corridor connects Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area to the Mississippi River
Community Involvement
Eagle Brook Church is committed to working with the community regarding the preservation on natural resources on
the Eagle Brook property. We value the input of the various resource management agencies working toward the wise
use and conservation of natural resources. We are committed to working with them on resources issues. We are also •
open to working with interested residents, neighbors and local associations
DRAFT Eagle Brook Conservation Area Management Plan
..3/17/2004
