Goal 4: Promote and encourage development of a large destination commercial and <br />entertainment center. <br />Rationale: The development of this center will provide necessary jobs and desired <br />amenities that are convenient and accessible to residents. <br />Strategies: <br />• Encourage the development of a major regional commercial center which would <br />include various types of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment venues for both <br />adults and children. <br />• Capitalize on the growth of the neighboring communities by providing supporting <br />retail establishments. <br />• Plan for traffic and transportation linkage /access to the regional commercial center <br />area (from a major arterial or interchange along 35E.) <br />• Improve the design standards of commercial developments so they are more <br />attractive, user friendly and integrated into the surrounding neighborhoods and <br />adjacent areas. <br />15 <br />
