The advisors guide the explorers by providing training on all aspects of law
enforcement including: defensive tactics, handcuffing, traffic stops, radio procedures and firearms.
The Explorers continually train to strengthen their knowledge and skills for the annual competition
which was held at Breezy Point on April 27 -30. Six explorers competed in seven practical
exercises that tested their abilities in interview and interrogation, conducting neighborhood watch
meetings, responding to a domestic violence situation, responding to a burglary in progress,
processing a crime scene which included fingerprinting, mapping and taking crime scene photos,
and a competition shoot. The explorers took first place in the "Suicide by Cop" academic event.
This unit logged 1189 volunteer hours in 2006.
Lino Lakes Police Department 2006 Annual Report 22
•
•
