Scenario 1 (Recommended)
• Complete all of the general engineering activities
agreed upon
• Provide office hours for an average of 24 hours
(three days) per week.
- City Engineer for an average of 16 hours (two
days) per week
- Assistant City Engineer for an average of 8 hours
(one day) per week
• Provide additional engineering services as directed by
the City Council and City Administrator according to
the attached Fee Schedule.
Flat Rate = $5,200.00 per month
($62,400 annually)
Scenario 2
• Complete all of the general engineering activities
agreed upon
• Provide office hours for 40 hours (five days) per
week.
- City Engineer for an average of 24 hours (three
days) per week
- Assistant City Engineer for an average of 16 hours
(two days) per week
• Provide additional engineering services as directed by
the City Council and City Administrator according to
the attached Fee Schedule.
Flat Rate = $8,500.00 per month
($102,000 annually)
We understand that based on the level of development and construction activity, the City may require that the office
hours remain fluid to maintain the desired level of service. We can adjust the required office hours or duties assigned
as the City desires. We will also carefully track our time spent on engineering activities to facilitate an easy review and
potential modification of the required office hours and assignments. We further understand that the City has strong
opinions on how to structure the compensation portion of this agreement and are willing to discuss the compensation
method that is the most desirable for the City of Lino Lakes.
Part of the value that WSB will bring to the City of Lino Lakes is a solid business perspective. Should City staff change
or the need for engineering services decrease, we will be proactive in adjusting our service. We will inform the City
Administrator of our perspective on the change and recommend a modification of office hours and /or duties, to reduce
the Flat Rate retainer.
Our fee schedule, general approach to compensation, and sample invoices for general engineering services (retainer)
and project specific services (hourly rate) are shown on the following pages.
WSB
& Associates, Inc
Basis for Compensation
