Any company that the owner contracts with to conduct Criminal History <br />checks most meet the standards established by the Public Safety <br />Department. <br />Must have written "denial criteria" that must be provided to each applicant at <br />the time of application. <br />The criteria established for denial of applicants must apply equally to all <br />persons regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual <br />orientation, disability, age, marital status, or status with regard to public <br />assistance. <br />All managers must attend eight hours of annual STAR training. <br />Management must assist the Police Department in conducting resident crime <br />prevention meetings when requested. <br />Every prospective tenant eighteen (18) years of age or older shall be required <br />to complete a tenant application. <br />Every applicant shall submit proper photo identification, which must be either <br />a current driver's license or state issued identification card. If the identification <br />card is from another state other than the State of Minnesota, the lessee must <br />require verification of the applicant's social security number. <br />Applicants should be denied rental if the applicant misrepresents information <br />on the application. If misrepresentations are found after a rental agreement is <br />executed, the licensee should terminate the rental agreement. <br />Level "B" rated criteria <br />All criteria listed under Level C must be complied with. <br />Statewide Criminal History checks of any applicant in their previous states of <br />residence covering the last seven years if they have not resided in Minnesota <br />for three years or longer. <br />Criminal History checks of all applicants conducted in all seven counties in <br />the metro Twin City area covering at least the last seven years including all <br />misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, and felony convictions. <br />Level "A" rated criteria <br />All the criteria listed under Levels B & C must be complied with. <br />Criminal History checks in all counties the applicant has resided in for the <br />past seven years or since turning eighteen years of age. <br />Basic Physical Security Requirements <br />Single cylinder dead bolt looks on external doors. <br />High security strike plates with 3" screws. <br />180 degree eye viewers installed on front doors. <br />Adequate security lighting on property. <br />Proper trimming of bushes and shrubs. <br />Anti lift/slide devices on ground level windows and sliding glass doors. <br />- Business address prominently displayed and each unit number on every <br />door. <br />Approved video surveillance of underground parking. <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />
