dit,t+E - <br />Interested in the Charter Commission? <br />/t -e\ft <br />ct.�.t e--15-v"4"1 • <br />c <br />The City of Lino Lakes will be accepting applications from persons interested in <br />serving on the Charter Commission. Any Lino Lakes resident, except current city council <br />members, who is a qualified voter and wishes to serve on the Charter Commission, may <br />call Lino Lakes City Hall at 651/982 -2400 and request an application, visit the city <br />website at www.ci.lino - lakes.mn.us and click on "Home Rule Charter," or call Chair Cori <br />Duffy at the.duffys @msn.com. Applications must be submitted to the city no later than <br />October 1, 2007. Questions regarding the appointment process can be directed to Julie <br />Bartell, City Clerk, 651/982 -2406. <br />The Lino Lakes Charter Commission is a 15- member body appointed by a District Judge <br />to oversee the City Charter. Established in 1981, this volunteer commission is the only <br />entity in Lino Lake's government that doesn't fall under the authority of the city council. <br />The commission's charge is to serve as custodians of the City Charter in accordance with <br />state laws, the charter by -laws and rules of the Charter Commission. The commission <br />may propose amendments to the City Charter, as can the city council. The <br />commissioners are appointed to four -year terms. The Charter Commission is completely <br />separate and distinct from the Citizen's Task Force, which was appointed in February, <br />2007 by the city council to review Charter provisions pertaining to local improvements. <br />
