• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 6C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Marty Asleson <br />CC MEETING DATE: August 27, 2007 <br />TOPIC: Minnesota Releaf Grant for Oak Wilt <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Minnesota Releaf program is established in the Department of Natural <br />Resources in the State of Minnesota to encourage, promote, and fund the <br />planting, maintenance, and improvement of trees in the state. <br />For the past 20 years the City has assisted residents with oak wilt control. Oak <br />wilt control is mandated by city code where this tree disease can travel to <br />adjacent properties. <br />The attached MN Releaf Grant authorizes the City of Lino Lakes to enter into <br />agreement with the Minnesota DNR to control oak wilt in the City of Lino Lakes <br />and cost share $7,000 with residents for oak wilt control. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolution No.07 -126, Accepting State of Minnesota Contract # <br />B04848, MN ReLeaf Grant Contract <br />2.
