Three out of ten women murdered in the U.S. are the victims of <br />intimate partner violence. <br />A domestic violence situation is of the most dangerous calls responded to by law <br />enforcement. It is critical that law enforcement professionals develop and implement <br />programs, policies and practices that both safe and effective in meeting the serious <br />and unique challenges of domestic violence cases. Research shows a <br />well- coordinated and multidisciplinary approach is on of the more effective means of <br />reducing domestic violence. Strategies that emphasize victim safety, while holding <br />offenders accountable, have proven to be one of the most successful means of <br />intervention. <br />Alexandra House partners with nearly all law enforcement agencies in the county, <br />including the Lino Lakes Police Department and city prosecutors to create this kind <br />of response to domestic violence in Lino Lakes while ensuring the safety of victims <br />and holding offenders accountable. <br />I trust that the City of Lino Lakes will find merit in our request for funding and <br />partner with us to ensure that these critical services are available to your city <br />residents. <br />I would be happy to answer any questions you may have and would be pleased to <br />meet with you to further discuss this funding request.
