Public safety issues
The neighbors of Clearwater Creek and 65th street are more than just
homeowners concerned about property values. We are all like family to each
other. We have annual neighborhood events, we close our neighbor's garage
door if it's left open during the day, and we are always willing to help each
other out. There are many families with energetic children in our
neighborhood. To our dismay, many of us have seen children playing around
the vacant house, building bike jumps, and generally curious about the old
house. This property is no place for someone to be, let alone children. There is
the incomplete addition with collapsing foundation, 15' cliff and rusted metal rebar; old gas cans and debris left by the
previous owner; electrical cables running across the yard. Furthermore, as the structure continues to deteriorate it
becomes more of a hazard. The City needs to take care of this problem property. City of Lino Lakes staff have described
the property as dilapidated, a public nuisance, attracts vandalism and lends itself to possible break -ins.
What the residents would like
We expect the City of Lino Lakes will recognize this property as structurally deficient, un- inhabitable, and a hazard in our
neighborhood. We expect the City to take quick and decisive action to fix the problem before this cycle begins again. We
also would encourage members of the City Council and City staff members to drive past the property, talk the neighbors,
and experience the property first hand. We want this property condemned and destroyed.
We are asking the City Council to...
IMMEDIATELY STOP POTENTIAL BUYERS FROM INVESTING IN A STRUCTURALLY DEFECTIVE PROPERTY
DESTROY THE STRUCTURE ON THE PROPERTY AND RE -GRADE SO IT IS NOT A HAZARD TO THE COMMUNITY
Our initiative
We believe this property was an oversight when the development was created and should have been removed at that
time. The neighbors of Clearwater Creek have even created a website to gather support in the efforts. We encourage
you to visit it at: http: / /www.clearwatercreek.org click on Neighborhood Eyesore. Based on website and community
feedback, we will be compiling an official petition from all the 500+ neighbors in the surrounding area.
Thanks you for your time and action,
Neighbors of Clearwater Creek
The Neighbors of Clearwater Creek are represented tonight by
JJ Parker 1 2384 65th Street 1 651- 762 -1981 1 jj @trms.com
21 Page
