NEW OFFICERS AND ENHANCED OPPORTUNITIES <br />• Officers Matt Vana and Wayne Wegener have begun work as school <br />resource officers in the elementary and middle schools respectively <br />as of this school year. <br />• Officers Terina Peterson and Pete Noll have completed field training <br />this month and are now patrolling on their own. <br />• Jackie Foley and Zach Johnson have been extended offers as police <br />officers and will both be starting in October. <br />• Officer William Owens has volunteered to step in as the new DARE <br />Officer for this school year replacing Officer Tanya Tamm who has <br />accepted a police officer position with the St. Paul Police Department. <br />• Office Volunteers (Martha, Colleen). <br />OFFICE VOUNTEERS <br />• Added two new volunteers that have helped with transcription of <br />tapes and data entry. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY CITIZEN COMMISSION <br />Added the following to replace original members: <br />• Bob Ficcadenti <br />• Howard Hill <br />• Kristen Nelson <br />• Derek Sadowski <br />• Jill Santinni <br />CHAPLAIN PROGRAM <br />• A new chaplain is currently being added from Eagle Brook Church. <br />COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) PROGRAM. <br />• Received $20,000 grant to start the community emergency response <br />team (cert) program. <br />• Staff attended a 2 day seminar to assist with program definition and <br />startup. <br />• Community members will be identified this fall that can assist with <br />program development and implementation. <br />CONTINUE TO ADD NEW NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH GROUPS. <br />• Added 20 new groups (15 in the Clearwater Creek Development <br />alone). <br />NATIONAL NIGHT OUT <br />• Officers and staff attended 44 events this year. <br />11 <br />
